Did you know…

“Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women around the world, with 1 in 8 women affected in their lifetime. The survival rates for breast cancer vary dramatically across the globe, ranging from 80% or over in developed countries to 40% in developing countries. The low survival rates in developing poverty-stricken countries are due to the lack of access to medical care and the financial implications of treatment. Breast cancer is therefore detected at a much later stage, resulting in inevitable mortality.”- Breast Cancer Support.

Although rare, men can get breast cancer as they do have a small amount of breast tissue. It is more common in men over 60, however, younger men can be affected.

There are early signs of breast cancer you can look out for. This includes a lump in your chest, painful or itchy breasts, and sometimes discharge from the nipple. Please watch the following video for helpful tips on how to conduct a self-examination;
